Harp & Bowl

“Harp & Bowl” is a term derived from Revelation 5:8, describing the elders before the throne with harps (representing worship with music) and a bowl of incense (representing the prayer of God’s people).  It is the basic model of BHOP’s prayer meetings – combining worship (led by worship teams) and prayer (both personal and corporate).  BHOP utilizes three Harp and Bowl formats: Intercessory Worship, Worship with the Word, and Devotional Worship.

Why a Model?

At BHOP our vision is to establish a place where day and night the beauty of the Lord is declared and where the Lord’s people come together in unity, agreeing together for what is on the heart of God. We’ve found that in order to help facilitate the vision the Lord has given us, it is important for us to use a prayer model that encourages extended, enjoyable, unified prayer, in a way that is easy to be a part of and for people to join together in.

Below are descriptions of the various prayer formats and structures that we use at our prayer watches to encourage the greatest amount of corporate involvement. We encourage you to take some time to read through all of the material in order to better understand what we are doing and how you can participate with us.
